We have marched forward regardless of hardship for 50 years and made great cause during these glorious years.

 

Today is the 50th anniversary for CCOEC. Recalling the past in the light of the present, all sorts of feelings well up in my mind. Time passes quickly like a white pony's shadow across a crevice, CCOEC has come through glory for half a century in a flash. 50 years ago, Foreign Building Materials Supply Company of China, which is the predecessor of the Company, was established after approved by the State Council. In 1993, the Company has changed its name to CCOEC till now. In 1998, the Company established China General Technology (Group) Holding Company together with other three subordinate enterprises of Commerce Departments (Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation), and thus became its wholly-owned subsidiary . 

 

As one of the key professional parent companies engaging in the earliest foreign economic and technological cooperation and China’s foreign aid projects, CCOEC always undertakes the mission of central enterprises, fulfills the policy and ideal of “Honesty and promise keeping, quality service, the pursuit of excellence, win honor for our country”. For the half century, CCOEC has undertaken and finished over 600 foreign aid projects by China, and its footprint has spread more than 100 countries and religions around the world, won praise from Chinese government and recipient governments for many times. The older generation of CCOEC people undertake national foreign aid mission, with hardworking, selfless dedication, sweat, blood and even life, compose a touching foreign aid song of praise,  make outstanding contribution to deepen cooperation with developing countries, and promote national overall strategic objective. In 2010, Commerce Department organized a selecting activity of contribution award for China foreign aid, 68 CCOEC staff gained certificates and medals of contribution award for China foreign aid, among which there are 38 gold awards and 30 silver awards. 

 

Along with the rapid development of global economy, in order to adapt to changes in market at home and abroad, the Company begins to transform and update, and changes into a comprehensive company integrating International project contracting, the construction of electric power, the international and domestic trade, foreign economic aid, labor service cooperation and diversified businesses together gradually through continuous adjustment and expansion based on the foreign aid business. The Company made actively move towards Eastern Europe and Turkey market, undertook Minsk No.2 thermal power station transformation, reconstruction Phase I of Minsk No.5 power station transformation and Turkey hydropower project successively, and relying on excellent performance and executive ability, the Company was successful in being selected in the U.S. Engineering News-Record (ENR for short) list of 2011, and became one of the biggest 225 national project contractors in the world.

 

In recent years, the Company has been further expanding domestic markets while grasping international markets, and gained efficient development in such fields as supply chain management and the regional economic cooperation project; the economic aid and labor service and other traditional businesses realize recovery increase gradually; new profit increase point is fostering. Along with the implement of Chinese strategy of “one belt and one road”, the Company will come into a wider world with more active and aggressive attitude.

 

Recall the eventful years, and look forward to prosperous future. At present, CCOEC steps on a new journey once more, and every CCOEC people will cooperate with absolute sincerity in the same boat, respond to new challenges and grab new opportunities, and seize the new victory to create new victory and brilliance!
