From May 15 to 20, Vice President Xie Lutao headed the CCOEC delegation to visit Saudi Arabia. Relevant principals and staff of the Foreign Aid Department and the International Engineering Department IV were included in the delegation.

In Saudi Arabia, Vice President Xie and his party visited the high ranking officials from the General Administration of Ports, Ministry of Health, Ministry of National Defence as well as Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), making a thorough introduction to them on the history and evolution, operational qualification and the remarkable reference in international engineering contracting of CCOEC as well as China General Technology Ltd. They probed into cooperation on construction of hospitals, power plants and ports.

Vice President Xie also met with the Chinese Economic and Commercial Counselor in Saudi Arabia, Mr. Yu Zirong. Mr.Yu gave an introduction on the country and its project engineering market.
