Feb 13, 2012, the 1×399.6MW gas-turbine combline cycle unit of CCOEC’s Minsk 5 Thermal Power Plant Rehabilitation Project (Phase I) successfully passed the 72-hour full load trial run. On Feb, 17, Belarusian President Lukashenko inspected CCOEC’s Minsk 5 thermal power plant project site, accompanied by the First Vice Premier and Minister of Energy of Belarus. President Lukashenko expressed thanks to the Chinese government and CCOEC for their contributions on improving the living standard of the Belarusian people, hoping to carry out further cooperation with CCOEC in the electric power sector. The escort also includes Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Gong Jianwei, CCOEC President MaZhiWu, Vice President ZhangYuanLing, International Engineering Department I General Manager LiuYing.
Following this, the General Office of National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee sent us a letter on March 19, 2012, conveying the important instruction made by NPC Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo: “Congratulation on the success of the 72-hour trial-run of Minsk 5 Thermal Power Plant. China and Belarus enjoy a sound political relationship. The two countries are highly complementary in economy and have great potential in cooperation. The completion of No.5 unit has won credibility for Chinese enterprises, which at the same time enables us to accumulate experience in external cooperation. Congratulations!”
Chairman Wu Bangguo’s important instruction is a great encouragement to us. CCOEC will further tap into the Belarus market, expand new area of cooperation, and develop our project into “sample project” of cooperation between the two countries.
