On Feb 17, 2012 (local time), Belarusian President Lukashenko inspected CCOEC’s Minsk 5 thermal power plant project site, accompanied by the First Vice Premier and Minister of Energy of Belarus. The escort also includes Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Gong Jianwei, CCOEC President MaZhiWu, Vice President ZhangYuanLing, International Engineering Department I General Manager LiuYing, and Ming 5 Project Manager LeiZhongFu.

On listening to the presentation on thermal and electric power generating techniques with advanced and highly efficient gas turbine device, President Lukashenko gave full affirmation to the quality and construction level of the Minsk 5 project, indicating that the project is so far the largest and most successful construction project in China- Belarus cooperation, it has realized combination to grid and has greatly alleviated the local electricity shortages in Belarus. By applying advanced combustion technique, it has reduced the consumption proportion of standard fuel, and improved the effectiveness of electricity production as well, which is of great significance to the promotion of the economic development in Belarus. President Lukashenko expressed thanks to the Chinese government and CCOEC for their contributions on enhancing the living standard of the Belarusian people, hoping to carry out further cooperation with CCOEC in the electric power sector.
